Fair Winds, Me Hearties!

Kalie performed in her final recital tonight at Tara Rodi School of the Dance. Mrs. Tara is leaving to move to California- her husband was transferred recently. Kalie took 6 of the 7 years of dance here with Mrs. Tara. We will miss her and we wish her and her family the best. Tonight was emotionally very difficult for Kalie and the other dancers. There were lots of tears. But, a new chapter opens for Kalie as well. She is going to be taking dance privately under Ms. Lisa Lindon- a fabulous dancer- very talented. Kalie has been taking private ballet with her this year and will add tap too as of this summer. Then in the fall, Kalie will begin at Woodmont Academy of Fine Arts- Amy is a teacher there and so Kalie is excited about that. She will take a couple of classes through the week so she can continue competing.
Kalie and Mrs. Tara. During the short break between rehearsal and recital, the Tomlinson's came over to grill hamburgers and the children played. I think it was a good stress-breaker before the big night!

David and Drew- these two can get into lots of mischief (just ask about the dancing pirate crew at the recital....) I wish you could see it better, but Drew's squirt bottle for the grill is Kalie's dance thermos- Kalie has taken his grill squirt bottle and put hair stuff in it... It was quite humorous.
Our family before we left for the recital. Karlee and Kate stayed with a friend and did great. It was just too long of a night for them. Kalie's grandparents were all there and she did awesome! Actually, everyone did great! Such a fun night! CONGRATS KALIE ON 7 YEARS OF DANCE!!
