A Sad Moment...

Our little bunnies died yesterday and last night. They were doing so well Saturday- I knew it was almost impossible to raise wild rabbits- especially ones so young. We had a "funeral" today. I wish you could have seen Kalie, Khloe and Emma holding that little "casket"- aka ziploc bag with the rabbits wrapped in blankets. They walked all the way down the hill like a little processional. They even had flowers. Andrea said that this was one of the most depressing things she had seen. They each said something they liked about the bunnies. We assured the girls that they were great rabbit mommies and that those little creatures were comfortable, safe and well fed- and not scared and hungry. It was definitely a neat experience for them. How often do you get to see baby animals open their eyes for the first time or learn to walk around and eat and perk up their little ears? Allows for some sweet memories.
